WOMEN WHO BUILD            La Mujer Construye

  2nd  ENCOUNTER  IN  ARCHITECTURE

Alcalá University, Madrid.
July 6th to 10th, 1998.

The 2nd Encounter of Women in Architecture  took place the summer following the first course that was held in 1997. This encounter had an excellent turnout and was well recieved by all participants.

This encounter was geared to architects and architecture students alike, as well as to all that share an understanding of space as a design process embedded in the knowledge of our being. The proposal was to create a debate and meditation forum on the significant work and projects women architects have recently been involved with, by analyzing and utilizing our knowledge as a method of advancement for a greater understanding of our profession.

Instructed by different professionals relating to architecture, the encounters were held during a study week that included lectures, debate panels and visits to architectonic work-sites in the surroundings of the city of Alcala de Henares.
