4th MEETING IN ARCHITECTURE: THE MEDITERRANEAN HOUSE

Alcalá University, Madrid
From the 5th to the 7th of May, 2000.

This new Meeting was organized around two principal ideas: the playing role of culture and tradition as a meeting and supporting point, in its actualization, of architecture for the future; and the woman, singular protagonist of a space that  belongs  to her in a special way: the house, daily universe, space for intimacy.

And to receive our lesson on Mediterranean culture, we embarked into this new Spring Course, the first at an International level, with the aim of making an interesting journey with our particular compass pointing to the future, stopping at beautiful and bright harbours in Greece, Italy, Algerie, Tunisia, Morocco, Barcelona, Spanish East coasts... in which we found thoughts about the house, about architecture, about art... All of them understood "not as a simple formal search, but because of their possibilities to produce, in melt pieces of present and past, the soul of a culture".
