WOMEN WHO BUILD  has set up  a professional Society linked to habitat design, an entity without profit intention, registered in the National Society Register of Madrid in February 21st 2002.

This presentation makes stronger the work developed since 1995 by WOMEN WHO BUILD forum.

The professional situation of architects in Spain and all over the world is going through difficult times. That is why we think it is important to develop collective projects, far from individualism and competitivity so present in our daily life.

The time in which we are living is starting to introduce women in all professional fields. New flows of opinion wake up with enormous interest because of their singularity.

The need of introducing new points of view in the design of architecture and inhabited places, topic that has been treated with interest in Institutional and Social fields in all European Countries, opens an interesting investigation field with lots of possibilities to women architects, women urban planners and all those that have to do with the world of construction, a field of investigation with great possibilities.

The evolution of society at such a vertiginous speed does not go parallel with the existing models of spaces where life happens. Great contradictions appear when the intention is to solve the actual human necessities.

Women Who Build forum is born as a tool of investigation and development for new proposals, endorsed by the experience of architects and professionals of spaces to be built.

It is set up as an open virtual network, created to develop a new way of thinking, based in contribution more than in comparation, a solidary platform, in which architecture is understood as a reason to meet people interested in working actively in the construction of a new society, the society in which we are living.
