WOMEN WHO BUILD IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SPACE |

December 9th, 2002 a new exhibition titled “ building from the Inside” was inaugurated in the head office of the Order for Engineers and Architects from Beirut( Lebanon).
This exhibition was financed under an agreement between the Spanish Ministry of Labour, the Head Office for Housing, Architecture and Urbanism and Cervantes Institute. The new exhibition incorporated 5 new projects by Spanish architects (Lola Alonso, Lucía Cano, Beth Galí, María Auxiliadora Gálvez and Ángela García de Paredes) as well as 7 new pieces of work by Lebanese architects (Divina Abou Jaoudé, Vera Bourgy, Dolly Debs Bradi, Randa Gebrayel, Roula Jamal, Simone Kosremelli and Roula Mouharram). As a supplementary activity The International Seminar for Architecture “ Women Who Build” in Mediterranean Spaces also took place at the same venue on the 10th and 11th of December 2002. Assistant participants included the Lebanese architects cited, Cristina García-Rosales and Ana Estirado Gorría as the organizers and Spanish architects Carmen Fiol i Costa and Ana Rodríguez. The seminar was inaugurated by Andre Berhazi, President of the Order of Architects and Andrés Pérez Sánchez-Morate, Director for the Cervantes Institute in Beirut.
The Beirut Order of Engineers and Architects with great enthusiasm contributed to the execution of the project, the set up of the venue for the exhibition and the organization of the International Seminar. |
